Charity project with poetry book

The official premiere of the poetry book "To Be A Woman", gave start to the 2006 annual campaign against breast cancer of the National Association of Women With Ontological Illnesses, carried on under the patronage of the fist lady Mrs. Zorka Parvanova.

The event was held on 5 October 2006 in the "Gloria Palace" diplomatic club, honoured by numerous celebrities, adherents to the Bulgarian Cancer Association and connoisseurs. The premiere was accompanied with an exhibition of the paintings, used for cover artwork and included in the book.

The authors of the book, poetess Mariana Doncheva and artist Alexandrina Karadjova donated 300 copies of the book to the National Association of Women With Ontological Illnesses. Thus the book can reach the hundreds of women supported by the Association in more than 50 cities and bring them strength, hope and support. The profit from the rest of the book sales will be donated for different anti cancer campaigns.

Publishing the book would have been impossible without the support of Logitech and Bulstrad Life Insurance. Our media partners www.az-jenata.com and www.bg-mamma.com helped spread the good news.

Projects like "To be a woman" that spring up on the spur of the moment and heart are real challenge to creativity and persistence needed to see them finished. "To be a woman" is not an ordinary book. It is a true emanation of lifelong experience, of love and hope, of wanderings and raptures, doubts and faith that are born in the heart of a woman. And it is a fact that the meaning of creating beauty is giving it away in sympathy.

In 2008, during the international month against breast cancer, the National Organization of Oncology Patients received another 100 copies of the poetry book "To be a woman". They are intended for the patients in the newly opened 5 new centers of the organization in Bulgaria.
